Services for Jo "Jackie" Amoss, 87, Chandler, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Weems officiating.

Burial was in Rock Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Amoss died April 17, 2008, in Tyler.

She was born January 26, 1921 in Henderson County to William LaFaris Gunnels and Emma Martha Edith Teet. She was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and lived in Chandler for 40 years. She was a homemaker and a caregiver. She was a member of West Lake Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eula V. Cotton; brother, A.C. Gunnels; grandson, Cody Grissom; and great-great-granddaughter, Betsi Wyatt.

Survivors include her husband, O.M. Amoss, Chandler; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Grissom, Chandler, and Ben and Glenda Bearden, and James and Lynn Bearden, all of Brownsboro; daughters and son-in-law, Sue Kidd and George Steding, and Molly Lummus, both of Chandler; brother, A.C. Gunnels, Elmo; sisters, Imogene Featherson, Athens, Zeffie Reep, Chandler, and Betty Meador, Mabank; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
