Services for Jo Ann Chaney, 84, Duncanville, formerly of Quinlan, will be held at a later date in Oklahoma. Local arrangements are under direction of Ingram Funeral Home, formerly Goggans Funeral Home, Quinlan.
Mrs. Chaney died April 15, 2008, in Duncanville.
She was born January 28, 1924 in Hugo, Okla., to Jasper and Ethel May Straughn Person. She grew up and attended school in Oklahoma. She received a master’s degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in music from Southern Methodist University. She taught in the Dallas ISD, retiring after 35 years of service. She married Jack Chaney in 1989. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jack Chaney, in 1989.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gary Youngkin, Duncanville, and Leigh Ann and Edward Hushfield, Cynthiana, Ky.; stepson, Stan Chaney, and wife Karen, West Tawakoni; stepdaughter, Sheri Groom, and husband Greg, Frisco; three grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
