Services for Arthur Dalton "A.D." Phillips, 82, Ben Wheeler, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at First Baptist Church, Edom, with Rev. Greg Lytle officiating and Rev. David McNary assisting.
Burial was in Edom Cemetery under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.
Mr. Phillips died April 20, 2008, in Tyler.
He was born June 15, 1925 in Eldorado, Ark., to Earnst and Manie Phillips. He was a resident of Ben Wheeler since 1977, moving from Irving. He worked in the maintenance department of St. Paul University Hospital in Dallas, Baylor Hospital in Dallas and Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was a Mason and a member of First Baptist Church, Edom.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Anthony Phillips; granddaughter, Michelle Renae Phillips; sister, Bessie Finley; and brother, Vernon Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Phillips, Ben Wheeler; sons and daughter-in-law, Glen and Deborah Phillips, Ben Wheeler; daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Howard Stroud, and Lanita and Don Houston, all of Ben Wheeler; brother, Austin Phillips, DeQueen, Ark.; sister, Daisy Sessions, Thermopolis, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Dave Lemoine, Ken Fulgham, Jan Moosburg, Nathanael Phillips, Don Eaton, Gus Borguson and Tex Stephens.
