Arlie Lovered King

Services for Arlie Lovered King, 88, Grand Saline, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Rev. Ronnie Daniel officiating.

Burial was in Creagleville Cemetery.

Mr. King died April 20, 2008, at his residence.

He was born June 20, 1919 in Canton to Oliver Washington and Mattie Staley King. He was a member of Lawrence Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, superintendent, usher and greeter. He grew up in Canton. He married Adene Herron in 1940. He was a resident of Mesquite from 1945 to 1972, when he moved to the Lawrence Springs Community.

Survivors include his wife, Adene King, Grand Saline; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Bob Wilson, Mansfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carol King, Midlothian, Gary and Karen King, Frisco, and Mike and Elizabeth King, Fort Worth; sisters, Edna Fay Watkins, Jacksonville, and Betty Weaver, Van; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included grandsons, Steven King, David King, Jeremy King, Ethan Tovar, Jeff King, Chris Wilson, Randall Thompson and David Petter.

Honorary pallbearers were great-grandsons, Matt Hendricks, Josh King, John King, Wilson Petter and Jacob Garcia.
