Services for John Neville Cockerham, 90, Canton, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton.
Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton.
Mr. Cockerham died April 23, 2008.
He was born February 5, 1918 in Joyce, La. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Canton. He was a longtime resident of Van Zandt Count. He served six years during World War II, fighting in the Battle of Peleliu. He was a farmer and rancher.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Anna Fay Cockerham; brothers, Harold and Jack Cockerham; and sister, Judy Forster.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Larry Howeth, LaRue, and Gail and Bill Mayes, Brownsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Jeryl Don and Benita Cockerham, Canton; grandchildren, Holly Baldwin, and husband Heath, Tandy Howeth, and wife Jill, Ramona Cox, Kim Barnum, and husband Bryan, Derek Cockerham, and wife Amy, and Jared Cockerham, and wife Emilie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and John Neill, Wills Point, Elizabeth Mills, Seguin, and Betty and Ted Farrah, Mesquite; sisters-in-law, Betty Jamison, and husband Alvin, Wills Point, and Myrtle Cockerham, Canton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Bernice Cockerham, John Cockerham, and David and Virginia Cockerham, all of Wills Point; nephew (like a brother), Gary Cockerham; great-grandchildren, Tanner Burch, Cade Baldwin, Cole Howeth, Lane Howeth, John Thomas Cox, Nathan Lee Cox, Brittany Barnum and Jack Darwin Cockerham; special friend, Ron Seale; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.
