Memorial services for Helyn Rinks, 83, Edgewood, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Cheatham Memorial United Methodist Church, Edgewood, with Rev. Jesse Brannen officiating under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.
Mrs. Rinks died April 26, 2008.
She was born May 27, 1924 in Roby to Sam and Lillie Mae Robertson Beene. She retired as deputy tax assessor for Van Zandt County. She was an active member of Cheatham Memorial Methodist Church, volunteered at Edgewood Elementary School, as well as Meals on Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Charles Wise, Rising Fawn, Ga., and Sheri and Bobby Hurdle, Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Gretchen Steele, Sylmar, Calif.; grandchildren, Susan Wise, Wade Wise, Wesley Steele, John Mark Steele, Paige Steele, Brandon Hurdle and Keri Hurdle; great-granddaughter, Emilee Steele; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nell Humphries, Dene and Richard Sansing, and Lou and Ray Kerby; sisters-in-law, Annabelle Chapman and Betty Beene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
