Jimmy Vaughan

   Services for Jimmy Ross Vaughan, 67, Canton, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Dr. Mark Moore officiating.

   Burial was in New Harmony Cemetery, Van Zandt County.

   Mr. Vaughan died November 21, 2008, in Tyler.

   He was born November 4, 1941 in Deport to James Robert and Emma Elizabeth Stevenson Vaughan. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, Canton. He retired from Brookshire Grocery Company Warehouse in Tyler after 21 years of service. He previously worked for Decker Foods and Frito Lay. He was instrumental in forming the first union while at Frito Lay. He was a veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Leo Foster; and brothers, Grady and Bobby Vaughan.

   Survivors include former wife of 29 years and close friend, Shirley Vaughan, Canton; daughter, Julie Vaughan, Canton; son, Gary Vaughan, Canton; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Amelia Vaughan, Quitman; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and  Don Pate, Cleveland; and friend, Alfred King, and wife Darlene, Mesquite.

   Memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701.
