Services for Joanne Marie Sherman, 72, of Wills Point were held at 10 a.m. April 14 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Brother Rickey Payne officiating.
Burial followed at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
She was born October 17, 1936 in Bloomington, III. She was the daughter of the late William and Charlotte Frank Schiel. She was raised in Chicago then at the age of 10, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She married Mr. Thomas Keils and he preceded her in death October 31, 1984. On March 1, 1986, she married Ronnie Sherman and they made their home in Mesquite before moving to the Lake Tawakoni community in June of 1996. Her son Robert Keils and daughter Linda Hayes and stepdaughter Brenda Turner and brother, William Schiel Jr. also preceded her in death. Joanne was a member of the Meadowbrook Missionary Baptist Church
Survivors include her husband Ronnie Sherman; sons, Wm. "Bill" Keils, Odessa, Tommy Keils and wife Julie, Danny Keils and wife Julie all of Mesquite, Sammy Keils and wife Jamie, Forney, Roger Keils and wife Tiffany, Mesquite, George Keils, Lamesa and Larry Keils, Glenn Heights; daughters, Charlotte Keys and husband Bill, Mt. Vernon, Kathy Kettle and husband Tom, Sachse and Mozelle Edgeworth, Arlington; Step-Sons, Ronnie Sherman Jr. and wife Connie, Terrell, Kenneth Sherman and James Sherman both of Wills Point, Charles Sherman and wife Phyllis, Gainesville, Fla.; step-daughters, Sandy Chaney and husband Danny McBride, Wills Point and Betty Doughty and husband Willy, Murray, Ky.; 23 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tommy Keils, Danny Keils, Sammy Keils, Roger Keils, Larry Keils and Mark Pinto.
