Services for Willie Lee Lewis Barrett, 98, Grand Saline, were held at 10 a.m., October 24, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline with Reverend Bennie Barrett officiating.
Interment followed in Barrett Cemetery, Edgewood.
Mrs. Barrett passed away October 21, 2009 in Terrell.
She was born September 25, 1911 in Braxton, Mississippi to Willie Leath and Emily Holmes Lewis. She spent many years in Shreveport, Louisiana before moving to Grand Saline in 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Saline; taught school for several years and retired from Selber Bro. Department Store in Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Barrett is preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.L. Barrett; three brothers; and one grandson, Russ Wayne Barrett.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Jo Barrett, Jimmie and Linda Barrett all of Irving, and Gene Barrett, Douglasville, Georgia; sister, Emily Lucille Patmon of Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Johnny Barrett, Carter Chatterton, Paul Barrett, Dustin Lollar, Jim Rester and Howard Carry.
Honorary pallbearers were Colby Rice, Gene Willis and Jackie Smith.
