Jack Lake

Services for Jack Lake, 74, Wills Point, were held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 29, at St. Luke Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Thekkumthala officiating.

Burial followed at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Mr. Lake passed away January 26, 2010, in Terrell.

He was born July 24, 1935, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to Lewis and Bernadette Lake. He grew up in New Haven, Indiana near Ft. Wayne, and graduated from New Haven High School. Jack went on to attain a degree in Engineering and worked in the auto manufacturing industry. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. On June 18, 1957, in New Haven, Jack married Joan Schlemmer. They made their home in various states until 1978, when they moved to Garland where Jack was plant manager at Weatherhead Corporation. He served as director of operations for S & H Manufacturing in Garland and continued on as a consultant after he retired. Jack and Joan moved to Wills Point to make their home in 1995. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Wills Point.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Lake, Wills Point; mother, Bernadette "Bernie" Pepe, New Haven, Ind.; sons, Scott Lake, and wife, Kathleen, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Stuart Lake and wife, Angie, Edgewood; daughter, Sara Jo Robbins of Altus, Okla.; brothers, Gary Lake and Dick Lake both of New Haven, Ind.; sisters, Joyce Smith, New Burg, Ind., and Shirley Robinson and husband, Stan, New Haven, Ind.; grandchildren, Justin Lake, Ashley Lake, Katie Lake and Ben Lake, Josh Robbins, Adam Robbins, Chad Robbins, Grayson Lake, Zoe Lake, Brittany Thompson and Jason Thompson; great-grandchildren, Josh Robbins, Jr. and Janie Robbins.
