Edgewood Man Held For Sexual Assault Of A Child
EDGEWOOD—Police officers from Edgewood and Terrell arrested a 48-year-old Edgewood man Tuesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Clyde Robert Sears was taken into custody at his place of work in Terrell Tuesday afternoon, Edgewood Police Chief Henry Askew said.
Askew also said four other warrants were to be served on Sears, who is in custody at the Van Zandt County Jail. Those charges include injury to a child, two other counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, and continuous sexual abuse of a young child.
The total bond for all charges comes to $1.55 million, Askew said.
The alleged sexual assault incidents took place in May and continued this month, Askew said.
Edgewood Police Department officers Robert Dearing and Randy Bowles served the initial warrant and were assisted by Terrell police officers in making the arrest.
