Two people were arrested and are facing drug charges after Van Zandt County Precinct 4 Constable Pat Jordan, along with the Van Police Department discovered a methamphetamine lab on VZCR 4907.

Danny Glen Hall, 44, of the Canton area and Nina Macnuson, 34, also of the Canton area were both arrested and another female was questioned and released.

"I knew both of these subjects well and had previously busted a lab in the Martins Mill area. Nina, also known as Goldie, was there and I have dealt with Hall in reference to numerous burglaries," said Jordan.

Jordan said that the couple was responsible for several burglaries a couple of years ago and that Hall just got out of prison last August.

"I guess when he got out, they hooked back up. I have been doing surveillance on them for five or six months and yesterday morning (last Thursday morning) I saw a truck fitting the description of the truck that they were driving. It was pulled up beside a metal building at the VZCR 4907 address," said Jordan.

Jordan said he pulled up to talk to the subjects. He said the metal shop door was open, as well as, the vehicle door.

"I smelled ether and ammonia. I also saw a trash pile with starter fluid cans and drain opener cans, all of which are involved in the manufacturing of meth," said Jordan.

Jordan said that he read the subjects their rights but advised them that they were not under arrest at the time.

"I contacted Chief Smith. Cpl. Ballard spoke with the individual that had care of custody and control of the property and asked him for consent to search the building and any other out buildings on the property," said Jordan.

Jordan said that Ballard brought the man to the property. I told him that I believed Hall and Nina were cooking meth and he signed the consent.

"They admitted to marijuana. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle," said Jordan.

"They had just finished cooking a batch and had all the equipment stored in the corner of the building. This was a good sized operation capable of producing large amounts of dope," said Jordan.

Jordan said along with the lab equipment, two containers were found with approximately half of a pound of meth in each container.

"The street value for the drugs is over $60, 000," said Jordan.

Jordan also said that Hall had a receipt for ingredients and a recipe for meth in his wallet.

"I can not thank the Van Police Department enough. Without them this bust would not have been possible. Kelly, Cpl. Ballard, Public Safety Officer Melissa Davis, and Gary McDaniel, who is a reserve officer, all responded to the scene and were of great help," said Jordan.

Jordan also expressed his appreciation to the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office for transporting the subjects to the Van Zandt County Justice Center.

"We were on site for about seven hours. Summit Environmental Disposal of Texarkana came and disposed of the chemicals," said Jordan.

Jordan said that he and Smith are both lab certified and were able to prepare the chemicals to be picked up.
