Faber, Sterling Advance
Devin Faber and Heather Sterling have advanced to the state track meet to be held in Austin on June 4-6.
Faber, a top pole vaulter in the state all season cleared a personal best height of 15’9" to place second at regional and advance. Samuel Retzloff of Argyle also cleared 15’9" but placed first with tiebreakers.
Sterling also had a personal best in the 3200-Meter Run, running an 11:18.83. Colbea Harris of Argyle was first with a time of 11:15.83. Both runners advance to the state meet,
Destry Hesskew placed sixth in the Discus with a toss of 153’4". Sterling also placed fifth in the 1600-Meter Run, while Evan Fike placed fifth in both the 3200 and 1600-Meter Runs.
Only two other District 14-3A athletes advanced to state. Wills Point’s Nathan White placed second in the Boy’s 3200-Meter Run with a time of 9:37.64, while Eustace’s Chelsea Truitt cleared 11’6" in the pole vault to place second and advance.
