Girls Powerlifting Opens With Win

The Canton girls powerlifting team began the defense of last season’s Small School Regional Championship with a win over the defending Big School Regional Champs Red Oak.

Sophomore Arrin Brown was named Lifter of the Meet in leading the Lady Eagles to 44 total points. Red Oak scored 36; third place Forney had 24 and Lindale 18. Brown set school records in total weight (930o lbs.) squat (375) and deadlift (400).

Three other Lady Eagles finished first in their weight classes. Kelsey Neystal (595 lbs.) Bri Chamberlain (660 lbs.) and Sam Whittington (715 lbs.).
