Vandals More Than Competitive In Seven-On-Seven

As part of a voluntary summer workout program, several Van Vandals are competing in Trinity Mother Frances’ Seven-On-Seven league in Tyler. The league includes numerous East Texas teams including Canton, Robert E. Lee in Tyler, Mabank, Lindale, Troup and Bullard.
In their first four contests, the Vandals have started 3-1. On the first night of competition the Vandals split two games, beating Canton 24-21, then falling to Robert E. Lee, 20-21. They returned two nights later to beat Mabank, 25-20, and Bullard, 27-21.
The Vandals were scheduled to take on Toup and Lindale last Thursday, but results were not available at press time.
The Vandals are in action again tonight, Thursday, and have games scheduled for June 28, and July 10. Games are played at UT Tyler, and the top team in the league will advance to a state tournament.
