Stanford, Harrison Named To All-State Team

Brice Stanford added to his list of post season honors by being included on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association’s All-State Team. He was joined by teammate Zach Harrison. Both of the Vandals were selected Third Team All-State, Stanford as an outfielder, Harrison at shortstop.
Four other Van Zandt County players were also honored by the THSBCA. Josh Wilson of Canton was named to the First Team as an outfielder. Wilson also recently participated in the THSBCA All-Star game at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
Austin Dixon of Edgewood was named as an honorary First Team All-State Pitcher for class 2A. Dixon died of a brain aneurysm days before the season began.
Dillon Weaver of Edgewood and Matthew Johnson of Grand Saline were both selected as Third Team All-State. Weaver played first base for the Bulldogs, and Johnson was catcher for the Indians.
