Lady Vandals Named To All America Team

Van Lady Vandals Shelby Harris and Jessica Marshburn were named to the All America team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Harris and Marshburn helped lead the Lady Vandals softball team to a 33-0 record, and a number one state ranking before the team fell to Celina in the regional semifinals.

Harris, who will play at Lon Morris College next season, was named to the second team as a utility player. As a pitcher for the Lady Vandals, Harris built a 20-0 record with 128 strikeouts and a .091 ERA entering the semi-finals. At the plate, she hit .496 with eight doubles, five triples, two home runs and 48 RBIs.

Marshburn, who is returning for her junior season, was named to the second team as an outfielder. Marshburn hit .527 while leading Class 3A with 51 hits. She had five doubles, 17 stolen bases and 25 RBIs.
