Additional Candidates

Additional candidates filed for places on city and school ballots this week in the May 10 elections.

Deadline for filing is March 10.

The City of Quinlan picked up another candidate as Carolyn Strickland filed for reelection to her Place 1 council seat. Ash Harmon had filed for the Place 3 position earlier.

In West Tawakoni, Pete Yoho filed for the mayor’s job. He is presently serving in the position as mayor protem.

Incumbent Winston Dennis as a candidate in the Place 5 slot. Roman Edward had filed earlier in Place 4.

The Lone Oak election picked up candidates this week with the filing of Wes Owens for mayor. He was incumbent councilman in Place 2. Incumbent Councilwoman Shirley Stogner filed for a new term in Place 4.

All incumbents filed for new terms in Hawk Cove Jacquelyn Patterson in Place; Billy Cosby, Place 2; and David Polhans, Place 3.

Union Valley Mayor Jay Atkins said four persons picked up candidate packets but had not filed yet as candidates.

For the Quinlan ISD School Board, Rusty Case filed for Place 7.

Jerry Click remained the only candidate in the Lone Oak ISD School Board election.
